25th Annual Holiday Match, Pitching in to Help Local Children’s Organizations
The season of giving upon us, and with it many local businesses and organizations are raising money to help those is need.
This week, Stewarts Shops are teaming up with customers for their 25th Annual Holiday Match fundraiser.
Each year Stewarts Shops from New York State to Vermont match customer donations from Thanksgiving to Christmas, donating all money to local children’s organizations.
Last year, the store was able to match a record number of customer donations of $640,000, for a total of $1.2 million.
“Every year our customers have increased their donations to help meet the growing needs of the children’s organizations in their communities, taking advantage of having their contributions matched,” said Stewart’s Foundation President Susan Dake. “In these challenging times we are trying to fill as many needs as possible,” added Dake, “as the economy continues to struggle, we expect the number of applications to increase again this year.”
Stewart’s accepts funds from groups or businesses, but only matches individual donations.
Applications can be filled out by local children’s organizations throughout the holidays at any Stewart’s Shop or online at www.stewartsshops.com. All groups applying must be locally based, benefit children under 18, and be a qualified, charitable 501c3 organization.
The deadline for submissions is January 31st.
