DonationDoubler.org gets new look, taps into social networks to maximize charitable giving

EVERGREEN Colo. – In an effort to help donors and charities make the most of their charitable giving opportunities, Donation Doubler, a non-profit organization based in Evergreen, Colorado, launched its newly designed website this week.

DonationDoubler.org serves as an information portal to help promote donation matching and challenge grant opportunities for charities. The newly designed website offers new functionality, including integration with a number of social networks, to increase promotion of matching opportunities through the power of viral marketing.

Users are now able to quickly register and log in to post comments on the site using their existing Facebook profiles. Users also have quick access to repost and share Donation Doubler articles on top social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Digg, Google Buzz, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Reddit and Tumblr, with a simple click of a button.

“By tapping into the viral power of social networking, we hope to spread the word about matching donation and challenge grant opportunities to a broader community and help even more organizations and charities with funding,” said Donation Doubler founder Stephanie Tobor.

The Donation Doubler website was created in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina took its toll on American citizens. A number of organizations stepped up to help, offering to match donations made to Katrina victims. Tobor, a philanthropist and human rights activist, discovered that matching opportunities were difficult to find because no central location existed where one could find all the donation opportunities. Tobor developed the website as a means to aggregate matching donation opportunities into a central website in an effort to maximize charitable giving and to make an even larger impact for charities and non-profit organizations.

The Donation Doubler staff combs the internet and print publications for matching donation and challenge grant opportunities. Articles and links to these opportunities are then posted to the DonationDoubler.org website and promoted through its social networks and RSS syndication outlets.

Charities and organizations with donation matching and challenge grants opportunities are encouraged to contact Donation Doubler for assistance in promoting their funding opportunities. Suggestions and links can be emailed to webmaster@donationdoubler.org.
